Farm sinks and apron fronts need the cabinet modified first; the consultant will tell you whether yours is ready or needs work before install.

From the in-home visit, templating to installation can happen in as little as one to five days. Distance is not what drives the schedule — slab availability and your colour choice are. Because the fabrication is done in-house at Pickering rather than subcontracted out, we are not waiting on someone else's queue. The consultant will give you a realistic install window during the visit, and if the date has to shift for weather, you will hear it from us first.
Is quartz a sensible choice for a kitchen that gets hard use?
It holds up better than most alternatives to what a working kitchen does to a counter. Engineered quartz is non-porous, so it does not need sealing the way granite or marble does, and it resists staining from the usual culprits. Hot pans still need a trivet — thermal shock can mark any engineered stone — and a cutting board saves the finish. For a household that cans, bakes and feeds a crew, it is a practical surface, not a delicate one.
