Quick Quartz Countertops

Quartz Countertops in Blackwater

Drive north on Highway 12 past Wick and you cross the Beaver River at Blackwater, three kilometres short of Sunderland. The hamlet grew on rail traffic — Blackwater Junction ran as many as fourteen trains a day before the station came down in the early 1960s. Today it is a line of houses along the highway. Quick Quartz measures and installs quartz countertops out here without fuss.

Sunderland is the errand town, with Port Perry and Uxbridge for the bigger runs. Our design consultant for north Durham is based in north Oshawa, roughly 35 minutes south — far enough to matter to a one-truck outfit, routine for us. Bookings run seven days a week, including evenings, so nobody has to take a day off work.

Blackwater countertop questions, answered

Is a house this far from the shop harder to schedule?

Not really. Fabrication happens in Pickering, but the install crew works across Durham daily and Blackwater is on Highway 12, which is about as easy as rural access gets. Template to install still runs one to five days. The only things we ask about in advance are where the truck can sit while pieces come off, whether the entry has a tight turn, and if anything needs to come out of the kitchen first. All of that gets sorted at the measuring visit.

How many seams will our kitchen need, and where will they show?

Seam count comes down to slab size against your run lengths and how the pieces get through the door. On a straight galley, one seam is often all it takes; an L-shape with an island may need two. We place them where they read least — away from the sink cutout, off the corner of a peninsula, and never floating unsupported. The consultant marks proposed seam locations during the template visit so you see them before anything is cut.

Do we have to manage without a counter between the old top coming out and the new one going on?

No — the old top comes off the morning of the install and the quartz goes down the same visit, so the gap is hours rather than days. Laminate and tile both come out; tile takes longer and sometimes leaves substrate that needs patching, which we tell you about at the measuring visit rather than on install day. Sink and faucet disconnect and reconnect can be arranged too — say so when you book and we schedule the plumber around the install.

Is quartz priced differently out in Brock Township than it is in the city?

No. The same colour, edge and layout costs the same in Blackwater as it does in Whitby — there is no rural surcharge and no travel fee for the consultation. What moves the number is the stone you pick, the square footage, the edge profile, cutouts, and whether removal is included. Because the consultant measures and prices in your kitchen, you get one installed figure at the visit rather than a phone estimate that changes later. Call 289-939-1193 or send the form.
