Our farmhouse walls aren't square anywhere. Does that cause problems?
No, but it is the reason we template on site rather than working from your measurements. In houses of Sandford's age, walls bow, corners open past ninety degrees and the run between two walls can vary over its length. The template records the actual shape, and the stone is cut to it, so the back edge follows the wall instead of leaving a gap the backsplash has to hide. Scribing that fit is normal work here.
How quickly can the counters be in once we pick a colour?
Templating to installation can run as little as one to five days, depending on the colour you choose and how the schedule sits that week. Cutting and polishing happen at our Pickering fabrication shop, so we are not waiting on a third party to slot your job in. You keep your old counters until template day, and the removal, if you want us to take the old tops out, is booked for install morning. Kitchens are usually a single day on site.
Why won't you price a Sandford kitchen over the phone?
Because a phone number would be a guess. The price depends on the slab you choose from the roughly 800 colours we carry, the actual measured square footage, how many cutouts the layout needs for sink, cooktop and taps, the edge profile, whether seams are needed, and whether the old tops come out. The consultant measures all of that in your kitchen and gives you the exact installed figure at the table on the same visit. Nothing is worked out from a photo afterwards.
