Quartz Countertops in Saintfield
Twelve kilometres northwest of Port Perry, Saintfield marks the point where Saintfield Road — Durham Regional Road 6 — meets Highways 7 and 12. It appears on an 1860 map and had 180 people by 1873. We are quartz countertop fabricators and installers, working kitchens, bathroom vanities, laundry rooms and fireplace surrounds, and our Scugog design consultant runs up from north Oshawa in around half an hour.
The village once had a Methodist church, a post office and a common school; the 1872 schoolhouse, thirty-two feet by twenty-five, was called the best schoolroom in the township. Sunderland is nine kilometres north, Port Perry a quarter hour southeast, and Highway 12 carries most of the traffic past the corner.

Saintfield countertop questions, answered
Is Saintfield too far out for you to schedule properly?
No. It is one of the closest rural corners we serve. The consultant covering this part of Durham is based in north Oshawa, so Saintfield is about half an hour up Highway 12 — closer than plenty of suburban calls he does. That means he can offer you an evening or a weekend slot instead of asking you to take a weekday off, and the install crew is not fighting a two-hour drive on the day.
Can you do a bathroom vanity on its own, or only full kitchens?
On its own is fine. Vanities, laundry room tops and mudroom benches are regular work, and small pieces come off the same slabs as kitchen jobs. If you are doing a vanity now and a kitchen next year, tell the consultant — we can note the colour so the two match, though quartz batches do shift slightly over time and he will be straight with you about that. Same free in-home visit either way.
How do you get big pieces into an old house with narrow doors?
We measure the path before we cut, not on install day. Nineteenth-century doorways and tight stair turns limit how large a single piece can be, so the consultant checks the route at the template visit and we plan the seam layout around it. A seam placed deliberately at a sink or a corner disappears; one improvised on site does not. Where access is genuinely bad, we bring the pieces in through a window or door opening instead.
What should we budget around before booking a Saintfield job?
Think in terms of the counter area, the material you want, and the awkward bits. Cutouts, a mitred waterfall, a full-height splash and removal of the existing tops each add to the total; a straightforward two-run kitchen in a mid-tier colour does not. Cabinet condition matters as well — if boxes need levelling, that is your carpenter's cost, not ours, and we flag it early. The consultant gives you the firm installed price during the visit itself.
