Quick Quartz Countertops

Quartz Countertops in Leskard

Six kilometres northwest of Orono, Leskard sits in the Wilmot Creek valley in what was Clarke Township before the 1974 amalgamation. Spring-fed water, steep valley sides, and a scatter of older houses along Leskard Road describe it fairly. Quick Quartz handles kitchens and vanities here the same way as in town: a design consultant comes to the house, measures, and quotes on the spot.

Orono is where most Leskard households do the day-to-day; Bowmanville and Newcastle handle the rest. From north Oshawa, where the consultant covering this territory is based, the drive up is about 25 minutes. Grade is the local wrinkle — valley driveways ice early and thaw late, so winter install dates get a weather check first.

Leskard countertop questions, answered

Do you charge for the trip out to a hamlet this small?

No. The in-home consultation is free whether you are in Leskard or downtown Whitby, and there is no minimum job size attached to it. The consultant covering north Clarington works out of north Oshawa, so this is a short run, not a dispatch from a distant shop. He brings sample slabs, laser-measures the kitchen, answers the edge and seam questions, and leaves you the exact installed price in writing. If you decide against it, you owe nothing.

Our kitchen floor slopes. Will the counter sit level?

It will, because we level to the cabinets, not the floor. Older houses in the valley often have a run that drops noticeably end to end; the fix is shimming the base cabinets true before template, which we check at the measuring visit and flag if it needs doing. Quartz is unforgiving — a top set on a twisted cabinet run will show at the seam and can crack around a sink cutout. Getting the boxes right first is not optional.

Can quartz go on a fireplace surround or hearth?

Yes, and it is a common second piece on rural jobs where the woodstove or fireplace is the room's focus. We fabricate surrounds, hearths and mantel shelves from the same slabs as the kitchen, so the stone matches across rooms. Sizes and clearances get measured at the same in-home visit as the counters. Note that quartz is not rated for direct high heat contact, so hearth details are set to keep the stone off the firebox — the consultant will walk you through it.

Why do we have to wait for a home visit to find out what it will run?

Because a real number needs real measurements. Two Leskard kitchens with identical cabinet counts can differ by a full slab once you account for an island, a peninsula, waterfall ends, or a layout that forces an extra seam. The consultant laser-measures, settles the colour with samples in front of you, and writes the installed total during that visit — including removal of the old tops if you want it. One appointment, one figure, nothing revised afterward. Call 289-939-1193 or send the form.
