Is quartz worth putting in an older Cartwright-era farmhouse?
It suits them well. Quartz is non-porous, so it handles a working farm kitchen — canning, baking, tracked-in dirt — better than a natural stone that needs sealing. The look is the part worth thinking about: in a house with original woodwork, a quartz with restrained movement usually reads more at home than a high-contrast pattern. The consultant brings samples so you can hold them against your own trim before deciding anything.
How long are you in the house on installation day?
For a typical kitchen, most of a single day, and often less. The slab arrives already cut and polished from our Pickering shop, so the noisy fabrication has happened before we reach Nestleton. The crew removes the old top if that was arranged, sets and levels the new one, seams and finishes, and reconnects around the sink. You are not living without a kitchen for a week — templating to installation can run as little as one to five days.
