Do you do fireplace surrounds as well as kitchen counters?
Yes, and it comes up often around the moraine, where plenty of houses are built around a woodstove or fireplace. A surround can be cut from the same slab as your kitchen counters so the two match, which is only practical because we fabricate both in-house. We will talk through clearance from the firebox when we measure. Raise it at the consultation and we will take the measurements while we are there rather than making a second trip.
Is Pontypool too small for you to bother with?

What makes a Pontypool countertop cost what it does?
The house type does most of the work. A small railway-era place in the village has a short counter run and little else, so material is modest and the labour is in fitting old walls. A newer build on a moraine acreage lot is usually a bigger footprint — island, perimeter, sometimes a butler's pantry — and that is more slab. Then it is edge profile, number of cutouts, waterfall panels, backsplash and whether the old tops come out. The consultant gives you the exact installed price on the visit.
