Can you do an island without a seam?
Often, yes. It depends on the island's finished dimensions against the usable size of the slab in your chosen colour, and some brands run larger slabs than others. Where a seam is unavoidable we position it where the eye does not land and match the veining across it. Your consultant will tell you at the measure whether your island can go seamless in the colour you like.
We are replacing eighties countertops. Do the cabinets need work first?
Original Glen Abbey cabinets are usually sound, but after three decades they can sit out of level, and quartz needs a flat, supported base. At templating we check the run and tell you if shimming or reinforcement is needed, particularly under a heavy island or an overhang. Any prep gets raised before we cut, not on install morning.
How disruptive is install day?
Less than most people expect. The install itself is normally one visit of two to four hours, with the old tops removed the same day if you have asked for that. Your sink and cooktop go back in and the kitchen is usable again quickly. Because fabrication is finished in our shop before we arrive, there is very little cutting happening in your house.
