Can quartz be used on a lakeside patio or outdoor kitchen?
Not quartz. It is not UV-stable, so sustained sun will change the colour over time. For an outdoor counter or bar near the lake we use Dekton or porcelain, which are made for exterior exposure and hold up to the weather. Your consultant can bring samples of both so you can see how an outdoor surface pairs with the quartz going in indoors.
Our kitchen is from the fifties and nothing lines up. Is that a problem?
No. Laser templating captures the real shape of the room, including walls that bow and corners that are not square, so the stone is cut to match what is actually there. In older Bronte houses we also check cabinet levels before templating, since a top can only sit as flat as the boxes underneath it. Any prep work gets pointed out at the consultation.
